Falling for BohoBlu
Let's Get It Started
As a part of my blog, I wanted to combine sharing my personal experiences and creating content where I can have fun and connect with my community. I thought about how I could do that, and I realized that there was a an opening to be filled. There are so many wonderful women entrepreneurs and small business owners that I could learn from in my area during my time off from school. So I have started to reach out to many of these amazing business people to inquire if I could get a glimpse into their world by speaking with them about how they got started, where their passions come from, and just to have a plain old good time highlighting their work so that they can continue to grow. I look forward to the many people, conversations and places that this will take me. Without further or due, here is my first piece.
I first hatched this idea of working with and showcasing local stores when I was living in North Carolina, and I stopped by a boutique called BohoBlu. I had been in once or twice, but this visit was different and I completely fell in love. It was one of those experiences where you walk in, the cosmos align and not only does everything fit, but you actually had fun trying every piece on. A big reason for this was because of the incredible staff who helped my best friend and I as we tried every outfit on, danced around the store and shared the experience with us.
While I was not able to sit down and speak with the owner because I had since left for Philadelphia, I got in contact through email and decided I would include a bit of background of the boutique for my friends in North Carolina, highlight their online info for my friends at home, and pictures of my outfits so they you are all able to see why I fell in love with their unique selection so quickly. I do not claim to be a model by any means, but there is something powerful about loving your own style and I wanted to showcase that.
BohoBlu, owned by the husband and wife duo Jenny and Patrick, was inspired by visiting a boutique in San Juan, Puerto Rico while on their honeymoon. They had found gorgeous dresses, at a reasonable price and felt there was a need for a shop like that back at home.
After much research and a trip to an apparel market, BohoBlu was born. They started as a vintage-inspired boutique specializing in accessories, apparel, gifts and home decor. Over time, they have evolved and take pride in offering a boutique experience at affordable prices and give you a chance to experience their lifestyle where endless comfort, timeless style, and a healthy dose of fun rule.
They currently have 6 stores in North Carolina and are continuing to open new stores every year. One is located right by Elon University in Alamance Crossing. You can also shop online at Boho Blu. I hope you enjoy!
